The goal of my infographic was to raise awareness of breast cancer. Many Americans, including myself, are affected or know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. One in eight women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women, but if detected early and in a localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 100 percent. My mother and grandmother are both breast cancer survivors, all thanks to early detection. I created this infographic to emphasize the importance of early detection and in hopes to create a higher overall survival rate.

Using Canva, I created my template for this infographic. I added in my research and edited the format, color scheme, fonts and icons used. The information used in this infographic was found on the National Breast Cancer website. For more information on breast cancer and early detection, visit
